House Calls:
Please call or send email to arrange appointments.
I support all ages of Macintosh from System 7 to the latest and greatest OS X, also known as Leopard. I can troubleshoot everything from your email to video projects. I support the home user, small business, Macs in larger PC networks, and larger Macintosh environments with OS X servers.
Software Repairs
Let me bring your dead Mac back to life, keep it from crashing, or troubleshoot and repair a specific software or hardware problem. I also aid in recovering lost data and crashed disks - which are often recoverable with utilities I bring with me on site.
Hardware Repairs
Repairs that require parts can be made on-site if the part can be found nearby. If parts require ordering then it is better to have your system taken into my shop or have me return after the part arrives. See my rates section for hourly and flat-rate prices for specific shop repairs.
Upgrades
Do you want to add some power to your Mac or upgrade the entire machine? There are many options to add RAM, Hard Drive Space, and CPU power. Let me take the confusion out of these things and evaluate your needs. Often a slow Mac only needs a tune-up, which is far less costly than buying new parts or an entirely new Mac. I won't push a sales pitch leaving you with more computer than you need.
Backups
Would you like a reliable and easy to use backup system to prevent down time and loss of precious data? I can set up systems that will automatically backup your computer - depending on your resources and needs I can custom tailor the best solution for you.
Networking
I offer DSL and Cable internet installations, wireless (WIFI) and wired (CAT5e) networking. For more details look at my networking section.
Media Specialist
I have three years experience maintaining, ordering, and repairing audio-visual resources for the Pacific NW College of Art. I use these resources in my personal artwork as well. Video projectors, DVD players, surround sound, digital video cameras and presentation installations are my specialty. If you want to give professional presentations from your laptop or play video games on a 12' screen, I'll set you up.
Shop Services:
Larger repairs such as data recovery, major component replacements or full system installs are more cost-effective done at my office. Arrangements can be made to drop off your computer or for a small fee I can pick up/drop off your system. See my rates section for hourly and flat-rate prices for specific shop repairs.
Tutoring / Training:
I approach tutoring from a non-techie point of view. Since I have an eductional background I speak in easy to understand terms. I work with all levels of experience, beginners and those looking for new skill sets. Lesson plans and outlines can be prepared for you or your work group, please inquire.

Networking:
If you have more than one Mac or you have PCs in your computing environment I will connect them all together and set it up so they can all share the same printers and files. Protect your network from intruders with a firewall.
I provide professional custom wiring or you can forego wires and get a wireless (WIFI) system at a very reasonable rate. I can provide networking plans and estimates that will fit your specific needs - and be easy on your wallet.
If you wish to install a server, I have experience with OSX Server and can get you set up for file sharing, email, web and domain name hosting.
I do not provide internet service but I can find you a reliable ISP (Internet Service Provider) for dial-up, high speed DSL or cable. Avoid the evils of poor customer service and unreliable connections armed with my knowlege.
DVD & Video Services
With a keen eye for design, I create professional DVDs complete with graphic menus and buttons. I work with footage from various video sources, please inquire about 8mm and super8 film transfers.
As a basic outline, here are my fees for making DVDs:
- $50 Create one DVD, up to 120 minutes of footage
This includes a basic menu and "play" button. I also will print a label and case of provided artwork or a desired still shot from your footage with a title. Additional design fees not included. Please provide footage from one source tape otherwise editing fees may be applied. Duplicates of your first DVD are $8 each. 30 or more duplicates receive bulk rates, please inquire.
I use the best quality DVD-R media and print directly onto the disks, this ensures maximum compatibility for home DVD decks and computers with installed DVD-ROM drives. The use sub-standard media and sticky labels have proven to cause problems in some DVD players.
- $50 / hour custom authoring work
Create custom DVD menus with animations, multiple chapters and interactive components. Make master DVD sets that have a combination of all your different footage sources like 8mm video, VHS-C, super8 film and digital8. You can include slide shows from any kind of pictures (I can scan slides and photos) all accompanied with your favorite music tracks. I also offer video editing services, touch-up and color correcting for your footage. I would be happy to provide you with an estimate for the custom DVDs you have in mind.
