Reminders (Finally) Adds Time Zone Support

Apple’s latest operating systems finally fix a long-standing annoyance for anyone who travels regularly: reminders that do not respect time zones. In the past, if you set a reminder for 9 AM Eastern and then flew from Virginia to California, that alert would go off at 6 AM local time, which is not only unhelpful but a pretty rough way to wake up. With iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS 26 Tahoe, you can now tap or click the time on a reminder and assign a specific time zone so it fires at the right local wall clock time. For example, if you know you will be in California, you can set a reminder for “9 AM Pacific” and it will alert you at 9 AM there. There is also a manual time zone setting available in Settings > Apps > Reminders > Time Zone on iOS and iPadOS, and in Reminders > Settings on macOS, although we did not need to turn it on during testing.
